Cusco Inca Trail + Machu Picchu 2D/1N
Inca Trail is the most famous of America, is a perfect option for travellers with less time. Starting at km 104 the Inca Trail goes up and down through the protected wild nature of the Peruvian jungle and forest steppe, passes several archaeological Inca sights and offers impressive views over snowy mountain peaks. The Incas used this itinerary for their pilgrimage to the sacred citadel.
Itinerario:
DAY 1: CUSCO + KM 104 + WIÑAYHUAYNA
Early in the morning, after our arrival at km 104 by train, the Royal Inca Trail begins with a hike to Chachabamba (2270m/7448f), where our guide will inform about the previous function of this archaeological site.
We reach Wiñayhuayna/Forever Young (2650m/8694f), the most important archaeological site besides Machu Picchu. After that, our trail continues with steep stairs towards the Sun Gate “Inti Punku”, Since we will continue our walk to our hotel in Aguas Calientes.
DAY 2: SANCTUARY OF MACHU PICCHU + RETURN TO CUSCO
After our arrival at the citadel our guide will give us detailed information about Machu Picchu and the history and culture of the Incas. Thereafter, you will have enough free time to enjoy and explore the site on your. A bus takes you down to Aguas Calientes. Here you have the possibility to join the town’s hot springs. We will leave Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. A transport will bring you from the train station to your hotel in Cusco.
