Iquitos is the North of Peru with its Amazon river the most mighty of the world. Contains more water than the Nile.
DAY 1: LIMA + IQUITOS
Arrival and Welcome at the airport. Transfer to the Port of Bellavista, located on the banks of the Nanay River where we will board a fast boat to embark on our journey through the Amazon River to the Yanamono Forest (Black Mono). During this trip we can observe the confluence of the Amazon River with the Nanay River and also enjoy the impressive jungle landscape and the picturesque little houses of the riverside villages.
Visit to a native community, where we will have an opportunity to share with them customs, dances and handicrafts, after a well-deserved rest, we begin a walk in the Primary Forest of the Yanamono Communal Reserve for approximately 2 hours accompanied by expert guides and where we can Identify species such as Heliconias, medicinal plants and giant trees like the Lupuna (Ceiba Pentandra) whose dimensions make more than 25 people surround them. After contemplating the beautiful Amazonian sunset, we begin an interesting nocturnal boat trip through the Quebrada Manco (If the flood of the river allows) or the Amazon River, to delight us of the magical sounds of the forest and in the light of the Moon observe the stars. Dinner.
DAY 2: POULTRY OBSERVATION + FISHING
At dawn, we begin the excursion of observing birds like the Tuki, Martín Pescador, Coto Gavilán or hawk of black neck, etc. Return to the hostel where a comfortable breakfast awaits us. Then all morning excursion along the Amazon River and in its gorges in search of Pink Dolphins and artisanal fishing where the most experienced fishermen will feel the emotion of fishing piranhas and other varieties of fish. In the afternoon; Observation of the impressive Victorias Regia in the lakes located inside the Island of Yanamono. At night, the more adventurous will have the opportunity to start a night walk around the lodge to look for and observe tarantulas, fireflies and other species. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: VISIT TO RIBEREÑO PEOPLE
Breakfast at the hostel. At the indicated time, we will start a program of “experiential tourism” that includes the visit to a coastal town knowing the customs and traditions of the people. During our trip we will again have the opportunity to look for and observe the Pink Dolphins and go back to fishing piranhas, return to the lodge and rest. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: IQUITOS + LIMA
After breakfast, visit a small craft shop where we can taste the different regional drinks made with the sugar cane juice. Return to the hostel. Lunch. Transfer to the City of Iquitos and / or the airport return to the city of Lima.
